SHOES, SHOES, SHOES

I guess you could say I’m kind of an addict when it comes to buying shoes. Well, an addict to any kind of shopping really! Money burns a hole in my pocket, which bites the big one when it comes to budgeting. Barely surviving paycheck to paycheck with a near empty account come Sunday of the non-pay week. Forcing myself to survive on buttered bread and Kraft Dinner if it means I can afford the new peep toe platform from Jeffrey Campbell’s 2011 Spring Collection.

I’ve never been good at spending money practically and have always spent an excessive amount on useless and very materialistic things, unlike my very practical and economical friend Summerr-yes, two ‘R’s. Though she, like me, is definitely a Material Girl, she’s always been much smarter about it. More aware of the budget she had to keep. I, on the other hand, never think past the purchase. Although, I usually only ever shop with companies that share a similar return policy- something I like to call ‘Buy Now Decide Later’. This policy has saved me so many times from silly impulse buys or from getting my cell phone shut off for over usage on my account- I also like to talk a lot, obviously.

Working at Stoneridge has not helped one bit when it comes to my addiction. The only thing that does help is getting a generous discount on my favorite brands and designers and being able to share that discount with the selected few I love the most. ---Don’t get too excited, readers! I have a limit to my discount and have to be extremely selective when it comes to sharing it. Nothing personal! ;)

Anyway, I won’t ramble on any further. Here are the pictures of my most wonderful new buys- as promised. Say hello to Jeffrey Campbell, Michael Kors, Cowboy babies and yes of course my very-affordable-on-a-budget-vivienne-westwood-immitation-chinatown-gelly-sandal:

CRYSTALS 'n' CHAINS

So I've been working on headpieces a lot lately and today I decided to change things up a bit. I spent money I definitely didn't have on supplies and for the rest of the week I will be surviving on ceral and KD! (yummm!)... But in result I got a beautiful new handmade (BY ME!) necklace!

Although it was a very tedious task I really enjoyed making it. I will be selling this particular piece for the next little while at a special price of only $60.00.

This is the perfect accessory to take any outfit to the next level. If you are interested in having one made for yourself please contact me via Facebook (Robyn Lianne).

love always,
Broke & Fabulous

FEATHERETTES

Well hello there,

Yes, it's been quite some time since I've updated this thing, but I've been busy with school and work and mingling with my perfect boyfriend that blogging kinda fell off the checklist for a short while. But I'm back and do plan to keep it up.

I've also been keeping myself creative over the past few months and have focused a lot of my energies on making what I like to call 'Featherettes'. I've had them posted on Facebook for some time now and they've been such a hit that I decided to post on my blog as well.

These featherettes are $30.00 a piece and hand crafted by ME!!! If you would like to place an order please email me: robynlianne@gmail.com or contact me via Facebook (Robyn Lianne) and we can go over details.

I accept cash payments as well as money orders.

FYI, these featherettes can be made with the ribbon colour of your choice. :)

I hope you enjoy my newest creation. In the meantime I will be keeping creative, living my life and hopefully getting my hands on juicy gossip for you guys! (to make up for my suckyness lately)

Aurevoir! ...for now!

PRODUCTION PICS

Kat and I exhausted as ever about 10 hours in crunk on the RED.

MY FIRST BIG WINDOW!

So not too long ago we had the Toronto International Film Festival in town. This is one of the best times for a new and over-the-top window display at Fashion Crimes. Lucky for me, my boss decided that I was the perfect candidate to help out with this new display. Kat(our head stylist/merchandising manager) and I(her assistant) worked together for 19 hours straight putting this amazing window together for TIFF. The window theme was "The After Party You Wish You Could Get Into" and the looks were inspired by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Alison Mosshart, Grace Slick, Gwen Stefani, and more. The window is sexy, suggestive, glamourous and very rock and roll edgy... Thanks to Gibson who lent us all the awesome equipment displayed.

I'm super proud of it and so stoked that I was the one who got to help out. I'm sure I'll have more opportunities to work on future windows considering new doors are constantly opening for me at Fashion Crimes (ie my new position as Design Technician Assistant - it's not as important as it sounds but it's still pretty freakin' cool!).

Anyway, because I was SOOOooo proud of myself for this accomplishment I had to BLAAAAHHHHG about it. Besides, I really do think that after all the time and energy and calories wasted on Redbull put into this window I really should show it off. So take a peek and let me know what you think. ;)
